This would look good parked next to my wife's Sunburst Orange Pearl Dodge Caliber. The supersport style belies that it's actually a good, all-around bike with a standard riding position. Don't know if this is the route I'd want to go if I want to get a different motorcycle, but it's definitely an option...

Lower rider
Think I'm finally going to have the dealership lower the seat height on my DR650. Hindsight being 20/20, I wish I'd had it done when I bought it. That would be my advice for anyone considering this bike if they're as challenged in the inseam as I am. Still think I'll wait on any other farkles (seat, Barkbusters, luggage rack, M.R.A. windscreen) in lieu of talking my wife into a V Star 950 Tourer or a Road King...

V Star 950 Tourer
This is Star's (Yamaha's) V Star 950 Tourer in Black Cherry. They're calling the style "sport classic". For around $9000 I'd call it the perfect bike for guys like me. It's big enough to go cruising two-up on the highway, but not too big to be a handful riding around town. It's rated at 47 mpg and is 50cc shy of the hit you'd take on your insurance premiums for larger motorcycles. This would make an overnight trip to the new Harrah's they're building in Mulvane, KS even more fun!

King of the Road
"Been awhile..."
Snake Plisken deadpans that line after landing a hang-glider onto the roof of the World Trade Center in Escape from New York. I loved that movie and I loved my old XLH 1200 Sportster. I don't know if I'm going to invest in anymore farkles for my DR650, because I'm feeling the Sportster bug again. Maybe a new Red Hot Sunglo 883 Low. I could make like Jim Bronson and everyone would wish they were me. "Hang in there..."
